Listen Now to Liverpool band The Shipbuilders opening track from their new album This Blue Earth.. 95 Miles.. It’s a breath of fresh air for the Indie Music Scene as it grabs you from that first bar. An in and out no-nonsense 3 minute piece of genius.

You can hear straight away all the connections to Liverpool in the structure of their tunes. That unique style that you only really hear from this great musical city. With similarities to The Zutons & The Coral.

Then you get to the vocals and they are seriously good.. When you compare these to Paul Heaton of Housemartins & The Beautiful South you wonder why no-one has heard of lead singer Matthew Loughlin-Day a lot sooner.

The remaining band members Danny Lee / Lead Guitars, Graeme Sullivan / Drums, Tony Ferguson / Bass & Pistol Pete Higham / Trumpet are also names to be remembered. I have another favourite from the album I will share soon..
