Over the coming weeks, months and years we will look back at the artists that have graced our stages, produced quality film and/or wonderful pieces of art and photography. So lets go right back to the beginning and start with a band that I regard, as do many others as one of the best Rock & Roll bands to have performed for us.. The Dandretta..
Discovered on that old music dating site Myspace in 2007 it took one listen to decide to go down to their next gig at Manchesters Music Box to check Chris, Mark, Adam & Pottsy out.. Their sound was good. very good.. Yet their live performance didn’t blow me away. A brief chat after the show and the lads were on board and the beginning of an amazing musical journey had begun for them.. and for me..
Like all bands I worked with I liked to go into rehearsals, get to know them properly and ready for shows. After a few sessions and sound check drills they were more than ready.. They went on to perform at some great venues.. The Cavern Club, Liverpool.. Trash, Leeds.. Cafe Drummonds, Aberdeen.. A unique support slot at the Manchester Apollo and the world famous Cafe De Paris, London to name but a few..
They were very much at the forefront of everything we done. None more so than the first Live Online Gig on the Livestream Platform at The Ruby Lounge, Manchester on the 8th August 2008.. Along with 3 other bands to perform that night. Silvertin, This/Broadcast & Vesuvian.. The show reached 350,000 individual views. Not bad for 4 unknown bands we had pieced together in a very short space of time.. Live Online Entertainment had begun..

‘I thought the Kooks were on good form. Also thought it was a nice touch having a band (The Dandretta) playing near the bar area between the main support acts. Been to many gigs at the Apollo and never seen this before.They played a semi acoustic set that was really good. As they were in direct competion with the bar they had to be good to hold peoples attention.’
